Oil exhaust can create highly corrosive deposits when gases cool in an oversized or deteriorated flue. Oil applications normally require a compatible stainless alloy such as 316-family material, plus correct sizing, connection details and cleaning access. Aluminum is not used for oil venting.

System options

Oil Furnace Chimney Liners options and specifications

The correct specification depends on the existing chimney, connected appliance, access, fuel, moisture exposure and the conditions documented during inspection.

01

316-family flexible stainless

Best forMasonry flues with offsets

A corrosion-resistant listed system that can follow bends, with wall construction selected for the installation.

02

Rigid stainless liner

Best forStraight chimneys with adequate access

Provides a smooth passage with listed joints, supports and appliance connection components.

03

Insulated oil liner

Best forCold, exterior or clearance-sensitive chimneys

Insulation can support draft, reduce cooling and satisfy the selected liner listing where required.

What to look for

When to consider oil furnace chimney liners

  • Black scale or debris collects at the flue base
  • Mortar or clay fragments fall into the connector area
  • The chimney shows staining or sulfur-like odor
  • The oil appliance was replaced but the chimney was not resized
What the scope can include

A complete written scope

  1. Oil appliance input and breeching review
  2. Flue cleaning and preparation as specified
  3. Oil-compatible stainless alloy
  4. Cleanout, connection and termination components
How the work moves

Our service process

  1. Inspect the accessible system and confirm the source of the problem
  2. Document measurements, materials, appliance information and site conditions
  3. Explain repair or replacement options in a clear written scope
  4. Protect the property and complete the selected work to the agreed specification
  5. Perform final checks and provide available completion photos
From selection to final review

A clear project path, with expectations in writing.

01

Inspection & documentation

We inspect accessible conditions, take measurements and document the parts of the system that shape your repair or installation options.

02

System options & written scope

You receive practical material and system choices, a defined scope of work and clear exclusions where hidden conditions may exist.

03

Contract, deposit & scheduling

Once you select your system:

  • We sign a clear, written contract
  • A 30% deposit is collected
  • We schedule your project
04

Installation & progress documentation

We protect the work area, install the approved scope and document important conditions and completed details as the project moves forward.

05

Cleanup & final inspection

We clean the property thoroughly. Most exterior construction sites are approximately 90-99% clean the same day. For qualifying multi-day masonry and exterior projects, our next-day closeout can include:

  • A final inspection
  • An additional magnetic sweep
  • Final drone photos when conditions and location allow
  • A complete quality-control review

Exact payment milestones, closeout steps and return visits are stated in the written contract for the selected project.

Service questions

Details worth understanding.

Final specifications depend on the inspected conditions, appliance listing, selected manufacturer and applicable local requirements.

Can an aluminum liner be used for oil heat?+

No. Oil venting requires a listed material compatible with oil flue gases, typically an appropriate stainless steel system.

Should the oil technician be involved?+

Coordination is often important because burner setup, draft controls and combustion testing belong with qualified oil-service work.
