A rebuild begins at a sound support point, not an arbitrary course. The scope should address brick or block, mortar, flue components, roof protection, flashing coordination, crown construction and termination. Matching choices are discussed before work so the completed chimney fits the home as closely as practical.

System options

Chimney Rebuild options and specifications

The correct specification depends on the existing chimney, connected appliance, access, fuel, moisture exposure and the conditions documented during inspection.

01

Rebuild above the roofline

Best forWeathered upper chimneys with sound masonry below

Removes the exposed section to stable material and reconstructs it with new crown and termination details.

02

Partial-height exterior rebuild

Best forDamage extending below the roofline

Reconstructs a larger section while coordinating access, roof intersection and interior flue conditions.

03

Full chimney reconstruction

Best forWidespread failure, movement or major redesign

Requires project-specific structural, venting and finish planning before demolition begins.

What to look for

When to consider chimney rebuild

  • The chimney leans, bulges or has repeating structural cracks
  • Many bricks have lost their faces
  • Mortar is deeply deteriorated through multiple courses
  • Previous repairs no longer have sound masonry to bond to
What the scope can include

A complete written scope

  1. Stable rebuild boundary and access plan
  2. Brick, block, mortar and finish selections
  3. Flue and termination coordination
  4. Crown, flashing and water-management details

01

Inspection & documentation

We inspect accessible conditions, take measurements and document the parts of the system that shape your repair or installation options.

02

System options & written scope

You receive practical material and system choices, a defined scope of work and clear exclusions where hidden conditions may exist.

03

Contract, deposit & scheduling

Once you select your system:

  • We sign a clear, written contract

  • A final inspection
  • An additional magnetic sweep
  • Final drone photos when conditions and location allow
  • A complete quality-control review

Exact payment milestones, closeout steps and return visits are stated in the written contract for the selected project.

Service questions

Details worth understanding.

Final specifications depend on the inspected conditions, appliance listing, selected manufacturer and applicable local requirements.

Can severely damaged masonry be resurfaced instead?+

A coating cannot restore unstable brick or missing structural material. Rebuilding is recommended when a sound repair boundary no longer exists at the surface.

Will the brick match the house?+

The closest practical size, color and texture are selected, but existing masonry changes with age and weather, so some variation should be expected.
